Emily Yeardley was invited to present at KML Occupational Health’s (KML OH) Team Workshop on Friday 28th June 2019.
KML OH is an occupational health provider that provides services and medical assessments to over 4,000 employees. Occupational health providers help to maintain a healthy workforce ensuring employees are safe at work, whilst also managing any risks that may give rise to ill-health in the workplace.
Emily’s presentation gave an overview of the law relating to ill-health and disability. Emily gave guidance on how employers can minimise the risk of employment tribunal claims. She provided useful guidance for occupational health and medical professionals on key issues that they may face, what employment tribunals will consider when deciding on whether an employee is legally disabled, the types of claims an employee may bring and how occupational health providers can assist.
Mark Blunden, the Business Development Manager of KML OH, said:
“All of the KML team commented how useful Emily’s session was. KML Occupational Health are often required to take legal advice on behalf of our clients and their employees during the course of our assessments. Emily at BakerLaw provides us with clear and easy to understand advice which helps us and clients resolve matters that arise"
Adam Hodkinson, Business and Operations Manager of KML OH, said:
“We all thoroughly enjoyed Emily’s presentation and would have her back to talk more on the subject to our staff”.
