BakerLaw are proud to announce that Debbie Duggan, Head of Private Client, has recently obtained a Distinction in the STEP Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable Clients.
STEP is the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and ensures a high level of skill, client care and ongoing commitment to training in this complex area of law.
Debbie explains:
“I am delighted to join the professional group of practitioners that have successfully completed the STEP Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable Clients programme, taught by leading industry expert, Caroline Bielanska. This specialist qualification was launched in 2014, and is the first comprehensive qualification of the legal, welfare, financial and practical issues surrounding the care and advice provided to vulnerable and elderly clients and their families. I am one of only 60 practitioners throughout the entirety of the UK to have successfully completed this programme to date. This enables me to manage the risk for vulnerable clients and their families in a highly complex area and offer a specialist service that few, and no one in this locality provide.”
Amanda Glover, Managing Partner, commented upon Debbie's new qualification:
“The firm is delighted to have supported Debbie in obtaining this specialist qualification, which not only enhances the service that we are able to provide in the community to older or vulnerable clients and their families, but is something that so few offer and certainly no one in our geographical area. Debbie’s understanding of the particular needs and support that vulnerable people and their families need, the safeguarding issues and her involvement with other agencies and organisations enables Debbie to provide both practical and empathetic advice and solutions to her clients, endorsed by her qualification”.
