BakerLaw LLP is very pleased to announce that Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice has been selected as our Charity of the Year for 2014.
The Farnham-based hospice is the only adult hospice caring for terminally ill people and their families across the whole of West Surrey and part of North-East Hampshire, both at the Hospice and in the community through their Hospice Care at Home team.
Laura Moody of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice said; "We are very grateful to BakerLaw for choosing Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice as their Charity of the Year for 2014, and we look forward to supporting them with their fundraising. All our services are free of charge to our patients and their families, but we need to raise over £15,000 a day to offer such an exceptional standard of clinical care and support. Unfortunately, we receive less than 15% of our costs from the Government/NHS, so we rely heavily on the support and generosity of our local community".
BakerLaw will be hosting various events and activities throughout the year to help raise both awareness and funds for the charity as well as developing innovative ways to support the Hospice.
Amanda Glover of BakerLaw commented; "I am very pleased that BakerLaw is supporting Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and hope our support goes some way in helping raise the funds required to provide their vital services. We take pride in being a community law firm and look to support local causes where possible. We hope to build on some of our previous events in which we supported the Hospice such as the Farnham Christmas Lights Switch-On, 'Wear a Santa Suit Day' and our regular casual dress Friday's".
BakerLaw will also continue to support other charities and organisations which we have supported previously such as BRAKE, The Army Benevolent Fund and the locally-based military personnel.
